Chart type · Trend
Line
An animated line reveal for one or more series.
How to read it
Follow the path: slope is the rate of change and height at any point is the value.
Best for
A trend over time where the shape of the path is the point.
When not to use it
The x-axis holds categories rather than time — a line between unordered categories implies a progression that is not there.
The common mistake
Cropping the y-axis until noise looks like a trend, or drawing straight through a gap where nothing was measured.
