Quiz reveal
A question, a draining countdown ring, then the answer, struck out option by option.
How to read it
A question, a countdown that speeds up as it drains, then the answer: wrong options are crossed out, the right one lights up, and the number rolls in. Where a poll split or option values are given, bars show how everyone else guessed and a number line shows how far off each guess was. The point is to commit to a guess before the ring empties.
Best for
A statistic that is more memorable once you have guessed wrong at it first.
When not to use it
The answer is easy to guess, or the question has no single defensible answer.
The common mistake
Asking something nobody could have an intuition about. Surprise only works if the viewer had an expectation to break.
